The Muslim community in Bristol

Bristol's Muslim community made up about 6.7% of the city in the 2021 Census, and it is concentrated in the east, especially around Easton and Lawrence Hill. Lawrence Hill is one of the most diverse wards in the South West, where roughly a third of residents are Muslim, while Easton sits around 15%. The community is a genuine mix of Somali, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Yemeni and Arab families, many of them established over decades, alongside a growing number of Muslim students and professionals drawn by the University of Bristol and the city's tech and creative economy.
