How Zawji reviews profiles, photos and reports

Profiles

Every profile goes through an automatic safety scan; flagged photos and reports are reviewed by a person. The assessment is saved. Members can report a profile that feels wrong.

Photos

Profile photos are optional. The member chooses whether the profile photo is hidden, shown only at a match, or public, and the photo is shown according to that choice.

Uploaded profile photos get an AI assessment when it works, and anything uncertain or inappropriate is flagged for an administrator. It is not a guarantee.

Intro messages

An intro message is assessed by AI when it is sent. Messages that ask to connect outside Zawji or require a wali are stopped right away. Clean messages are sent on, and flagged messages are held for an administrator. If the AI check fails, the message is flagged instead of sent.

Contact details in chat

Phone numbers, social media, links, email addresses and personal details such as a full name are caught by automatic screening. We have no routine where staff read members' chats.

Reports

Any member can report a profile or a problem. When the report is sent, the profile's content at that moment is saved as evidence. Reports are reviewed by administrators.

What the checks are not

• They are not a guarantee. If something feels wrong: report and block.
• Zawji does not replace the judgement of family and wali. Involving family is part of the road to nikah.
