About Zawji.

We built Zawji for Muslims who are serious about nikah, wherever they live. Safe, respectful and rooted in Quran and Sunnah. The house is Zawji. Not a new name per country.

Zawji is not a dating app. It is the same house in every country: serious intention, family orientation and Islamic adab. Built in Stockholm. Open to join whichever country you are in. Densest in Sweden today: that is density, not a visa. Every new profile is safety-checked automatically for authenticity before it becomes visible, usually right away, and chats are protected by automatic contact-info screening.

The word zawji is Arabic for “my husband” or “my wife”. This site is zawji.se. We are not the Telegram app at zawji.app and not the association Zawajj.se.

How Zawji differs from ordinary matchmaking apps

Most apps for Muslims are built like ordinary dating apps with an Islamic surface. Zawji is different:

• Photos are optional and hidden by default (moderated). Profiles are based on text, deen and personality, not looks. You choose who sees your photo.
• No swiping. You read profiles and send thoughtful interests.
• Safety checks. Every profile is safety-checked automatically for authenticity and safety before it becomes visible; unclear cases are reviewed by a person. An auto-filter blocks private photos, numbers and off-platform recruiting right in the chat, and you can report problems. Admins do not read the chats.
• Wali flow. Family and wali are involved when you are ready to take the next step to the sittning (the family meeting before nikah).
• Free to find each other. The chat opens with Premium: the same for sisters and brothers, and either of you can open it for both.

How it works

Getting started only takes a few minutes:

1. 1. Create your profile. Tell us about yourself, your deen and what you are looking for. Photos are optional.
2. 2. We safety-check. An automatic check confirms the profile is genuine and safe; you are usually visible right away. Unclear cases are reviewed by a person.
3. 3. Explore profiles. Browse active profiles in your city or across the whole country.
4. 4. Show interest. Show interest in someone you would like to get to know for nikah.
5. 5. Chat safely. When the interest is mutual you can chat privately: the chat opens with Premium, and either of you can open it. An auto-filter stops private numbers and photos. You can report problems; admins do not read the chats.
6. 6. Involve the family. When you as a sister are ready, you share your wali's number in the chat. The brother calls the wali himself. The families arrange a sittning.

Background

We are the Zawji Team. We built Zawji because we saw that the swipe apps were not the house. Muzz has pay-walls. Tinder is not halal. Auntie's friends lead nowhere. The same house should show up in every country: wali-friendly, no swiping, a protected chat.

Zawji was built from the ground up with Quran and Sunnah as guidance.
