Drammen, just southwest of Oslo, is one of Norway's most diverse cities by immigrant share, and that includes a well-established Muslim presence. The city had one of the highest proportions of immigrants of any Norwegian municipality in recent decades, and Turkish migrants in particular built early community roots here — Turkish-run shops, restaurants, cultural associations and mosques are part of Drammen's fabric, alongside Pakistani, Somali and Arab families.
